30/01/2024 – Leon Luke Mendonca se coronó campeón en el grupo de retadores, el grupo "Challengers", del torneo Tata Steel Chess 2024, en Wijk aan Zee. Empezó con 3 de 6 puntos, y figuraba en la parte inferior de la clasificación. Pero a partir de entonces, logró recuperar 6,5 puntos en las últimas siete rondas, ¡y se coronó campeón! El Gran Maestro indio y autor del cursillo "The Keymer Variation 1.Nf3 d5 2.e3".
