Anand emplea 1'43" en la jugada 4 de una partida relámpago a todo o nada
Sucedió en el Grand Prix Intel/PCA de ajedrez rápido allá por 1994, con
ajedrecistas del nivel de Kasparov, Kramnik, Anand, Ivanchuk, Shirov, Korchnoi, Timman al
comienzo. En la ronda 1 Vishy Anand, que llevaba unas gafas de gran tamaño (Todos
los hicimos en aquella época) firmó dos tablas contra Ilya Smirin. Para
dilucidar quien pasaba la eliminatoria se hizo necesaria una partida de ajedrez
relámpago a todo o nada. A Smirin le tocaron blancas por sorteo y, con 6 minutos
en su reloj, por los 5 de Anand, tenía que ganar para pasar.
¡Ya no contamos más! Solo siéntese y vea como se desarrolla la partida,
escuchando los magníficos comentarios de Maurice Ashley y Daniel King. Produjo
escalofríos en un público entregado en Nueva York. Y también nos los produce a
