Van der Weide triunfó en el Abierto de Sevilla

17/01/2007 – Entre el 7 y 15 de enero se disputó el XXXII Abierto Internacional Ciudad de Sevilla en el Hotel Al Andalus Palace de Sevilla. El vencedor fue el GM holandés Karel Van der Weide, alcanzando 7,5 puntos en 9 rondas. Segundo clasificado quedó el argentino Daniel Cámpora, con la misma puntuación pero inferior coeficiente de desempate, seguido por siete jugadores con siete puntos. El argelino Aimen Rizouk logró norma de GM y Claudia Robles, su segunda norma consecutiva de MI femenina (en diciembre logró la primera) y también norma de GM femenina.
