24/08/2003 – No saltó la sorpresa en Avilés: Aleksander Mista hizo tablas con Markus Ragger en 10 movimientos y se llevó el triunfo en el torneo, con 7,5 puntos en 9 partidas. Gergely Antal, al que el empate de Mista le daba opciones,  batalló durante cuatro horas contra Sergey Erenburg, pero terminó perdiendo. El español Emilio Moreno finalizó en séptima posición.
