Abierto Aeroflot 2018 en Moscú
Entre el 20 y el 28 de febrero de 2018, se disputó el XVI Abierto Aeroflot en Moscú. Hubo tres torneos abiertos por sistema suizo a nueve rondas, ordenados por fuerza de juego. El grupo A será uno de los abiertos más fuertes de todos los tiempos, con una valoración Elo mínima de 2550 puntos como criterio de participación. El principal favorito había sido Vladimir Fedoseev (Rusia, Elo 2724). El segundo favorito era el joven fenómeno indio Vidit Gujrathi.
El ganador, Vladislav Kovalev, además del premio en metálico de apróximadamente 18.000 euros, recibirá una invitación para el supertorneo de Dortmund en julio. El favorito, Vladimir Fedoseev ocupó el puesto 46. Vidit Gurjathi ocupó el 35 puesto.
