Richard Rapport y Jan-Krzysztof Duda pasan a la ronda final de Armagedón
La cuarta jornada comenzó con una batalla entre el jugador mejor clasificado, Jan-Krzysztof Duda, y Vincent Keymer. En la primera partida, Duda, con blancas, jugó sin problemas de principio a fin y ganó la partida con facilidad profesional.
La segunda partida fue bastante turbulenta, con Keymer jugando la apertura de forma agresiva. Sin embargo, su ataque se desvaneció tras un cálculo frío por parte del gran maestro polaco y pronto Duda sumó otro punto para ganar las dos partidas del encuentro.
La segunda partida del día enfrentó a Richard Report y Maxime Vachier-Lagrave. En este encuentro de pesos pesados, Richard fue el primero en lanzar una novedad en la apertura, que le valió un peón. A continuación, Maxime se defendió con fuerza, pero al final perdió por tiempo, ¡un fenómeno inaudito para el mago del blitz que es!
En la segunda partida, Maxime necesitaba ganar con las piezas blancas, pero Richard jugó con mucha solidez y empató la partida, pasando así a la siguiente ronda.
