El Campeonato Mundial de Rápidas por Equipos se disputa del 17 al 19 de junio en el Queen Elizabeth Stadium de Hong Kong.
El torneo consta de una fase de grupos, con los 48 equipos divididos en 4 grupos de 12, seguida de una fase eliminatoria con los 16 mejores equipos. El ritmo de juego es de 3 minutos para toda la partida, con un incremento de 2 segundos por jugada.

En la fase de grupos, se juega un todos contra todos a una vuelta. Una victoria otorga 2 puntos de match. Un empate otorga 1 punto de match. Una derrota otorga 0 puntos. Los cuatro mejores equipos de cada grupo avanzan a los octavos de final.
En la fase eliminatoria, cada duelo consta de dos matches. En caso de empate, tras un sorteo de colores, se jugará otro match. Si el empate persiste, se jugará un match adicional. Si el empate no se deshace, se jugará una partida de muerte súbita entre una pareja de jugadores que hayan jugado entre sí en el match de blitz. Esta pareja se determinará por sorteo. La partida de muerte súbita será la siguiente:
Las blancas tendrán 4 minutos más 2 segundos de incremento por jugada, a partir de la jugada 1.
Ambos jugadores deberán presentar una oferta de tiempo, especificando con cuánto tiempo inicial están dispuestos a jugar con negras, también con un incremento de 2 segundos por jugada, a partir de la jugada 1. La oferta no podrá ser superior a 4 minutos. El jugador que presente la menor cantidad de tiempo ganará la oferta y jugará con negras. Si los jugadores presentan exactamente la misma oferta, las negras comenzarán con esa cantidad de tiempo; un sorteo determinará los colores.
Si la partida de muerte súbita termina en tablas, las negras ganarán el match.

King’s Indian fans who choose the Mar del Plata attack (7...Nc6) against White’s classical system (1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Nc3 Bg7 4.e4 d6 5.Nf3 0-0 6.Be2 e5 7.0-0) usually aim for a complex position with mutual attacks on open wings, requiring long-term strategic planning and tactical sharpness in critical moments. Computers often do not know how to handle the arising complex strategic positions, which suits players who like to think on their own instead of memorizing long variations. However, the fashionable Bayonet Attack (9.b4) interferes with Black’s ideas. After Black’s main move 9...Nh5 the positions opens, the lines get forced and computer analysis is important again. But this DVD offers an antidote against White’s Bayonet Attack, namely 9...a5! This move leads to sound positions with very few concrete lines, in which the focus is on strategy not on tactics. Objectively chances are equal but if Black knows what to do things might quickly become dangerous for White.
