Tal y como habíamos informado, Levon Aronian firmó unas tablas rápidas tras 18 movimientos, en su partida de la última ronda con D Gukesh. Ian Nepomniachtchi ganó una larga batalla contra Vincent Keymmer para convertir los desempates en una batalla a tres. Aronian ganó las tres partidas de desempate y se proclamó campeón. Gukesh venció a Nepomniachtchi y compartió con él el segundo puesto.
Tras ganar el WR Chess Masters, Levon Aronian comentó:
"Estoy muy, muy feliz. Es fantástico ganar torneos, muy agradable. Lo recomiendo. Pensé que si no estaba en el estado de ánimo adecuado para jugar por una victoria, ya sabes, para darlo todo, y no lo estaba porque tuve dos días muy estresantes. Pensé que debería hacer unas tablas cortas, y luego estaré más relajado en la sección rápida.
Creo que es bastante estúpido considerar que eres mejor que nadie en rápidas. Ya sabes, todos somos buenos jugadores, pero pensaba que estaría más relajado, así que ese era mi plan", añadió sobre si creía que era mejor que Gukesh en rápidas.
