La Olimpiada en Batumi, el Chess Classic de Londres, el Campeonato del Mundo... Y ahora Tata Steel India ha anunciado qeu además habrá otro supertorneo en Calcuta: el torneo de ajedrez rápido y relámpago "Tata Steel Chess 2018 India 2018". Las fechas serán del 9 al 14 de noviembre y los participantes van a ser: Levon Aronian, Hikaru Nakamura, Sergey Karjakin, Wesley So, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Vishy Anand, Pentala Harikrishna, Vidit Gujrathi. Completarán el plantel los prodigios Nihal Sarin y R Praggnanandhaa. ¡Este va a ser el primer súper torneo de ajedrez en la historia de India!
08/08/2018 – La 25ta edición del Festival de Ajedrez de Abu Dabi arrancó esta semana en el Hotel Dusit Thani. El evento aniversario de este año es especialmente fuerte, pues incluye a cinco grandes maestros con un rating superior a 2700. Entre ellos se encuentra el candidato presidencial de la FIDE Nigel Short, quien vuelve a los tableros en medio de una ardua campaña.
31/07/2018 – A mitad del IX Super Torneo de Hainan Danzhou, los jugadores chinos que forman el mayor grupo de participantes en el torneo han comenzado a dominar la competición. Junto con Bu Xiangzhi (3,5/4), seguido por GM Yu Yangyi (3/4), se han colocado en la cima de la clasificación tras las primeras cuatro rondas.En los puestos tres a cinco vanJan Krzysztof Duda, Samuel Shankland y Vladimir Fedoseev con 2/4 puntos, respectivamente. El tercer gran maestro chino, GM Wei Yi aún tiene que ponerse las pilas. Actualmente figura en el último puesto con 1,5/4 puntos. Hoy martes, 31 de julio es día de descanso en Danzhou. 24/10/2017 – Se disputa en la ciudad holandesa entre el 21 y el 28 de octubre de 2018. Al cabo de 3 rondas, en los duelos de las estrellas, Vassily Ivanchuk ha tomado el mando contra el chino Wei Yi gracias a a su victoria en la primera partida. En el duelo que enfrenta a Baskaran Adhiban con el héroe local Jorden van Foreest, el número 5 de India ganó la segunda partida, pero el holandés devolvió el golpe en la tercera, igualando el marcador.
