Adrian Mikhalchishin, nació en 1954 en Lviv en 1954 y tiene el título de gran maestro desde el año 1978. Mikhalchishin se encuentra actualmente entre los cinco mejores entrenadores de ajedrez del mundo y es Presidente de la Comisión de Entrenadores de la FIDE. El ucraniano entrenó al equipo de la URSS en la década de 1980, a los equipos nacionales de Eslovenia, Polonia y Holanda, y fue entrenador de Anatoly Karpov (1980-1986), entrenó a Zsuzsa Polgar, Alexander Beliavsky, Maja Chiburdanidze, Arkadij Naiditsch y Vassily Ivanchuk.
30/04/2024 – Fue el entrenador del equipo nacional juvenil de la URSS desde mediados de los años 1960 hasta el colapso de la Unión Soviética. Era un impulsor de las grandes generaciones del ajedrez soviético, pero siempre se quedaba a la sombra. El 30 de abril de 2024, Anatoly Awraamowitsch Bykhovsky celebra su 90 cumpleaños.
