Edwin Lam Choong Wai, de Malasia, es ajedrecista y autor, especialista en marketing. Previamente se dedicaba al marketing con campañas locales, regionales y globales para Procter & Gamble y más adelante para Pfizer, Essilor y Yeo’s en Malasia y Singapur. También ha trabajado por el Purpose Group, una agencia de marketing creativo y digital, en Ho Chi Minh City. Ahora vive en Malasia y desde el año 2017 trabaja en un proyecto de educación que se llama My SKOLA+.

07/02/2024 – En el XV Abierto 'Penang Heritage City 2023' concluyó el 22 de diciembre de 2023. El auge que está viviendo el ajedrez en el sureste de Asia claramente se está notando en los éxitos de la cantera. Además del favorito local, FM Poh Yu Tian, otros jóvenes de la región que mostraron una actuación excelente fueron el MI indonesio Arfan Aditya Bagus, de 17 años, Ivan Travis Cu, de 14, y Sidabutar Uriel Noah Oloan, además de Uzair Shahar, de Malasia. 23/04/2021 – Mientras que en el resto del mundo, la pandemia sigue azotando a la mayoría de los países y está haciendo imposible la mayoría de los torneos de ajedrez sobre los tableros de verdad, en Nueva Zelanda, la situación ha normalizado un poco a lo largo de los últimos meses. Eso permitió que en Auckland organizaran un torneo presencial in memoriam de Bob Wade. El 10 de abril fue el centenario de su nacimiento.
