05/09/2017 – En total participaron 24 grandes maestros en el US Masters 2017 que se disputó en Greensboro, North Carolina (EE. UU.). El ganador el torneo fue Vladimir Belous, sumando 7 puntos en 9 rondas. 09/06/2017 – En la ronda 8 el británico ganó a David Antón y en la 9 entabló con Demchenko. Está en lo más alto de la tabla, con 7.5/9, manteniendo medio punto de margen con respecto al propio Demchenko, Matlakov, Mikaelyan y Jobava. Antón encajó en la ronda 9 contra Ter-Sahakyan su segunda derrota consecutiva. Ivan Salgado entabló con Cheparinov, con lo que totaliza 6.5/9 y supera en la tabla a a Antón. Ya solo faltan 2 rondas para decidir el podio y las plazas para la Copa del Mundo. Elshan Moradiabadi comenta algunas partidas de la ronda 8.
08/06/2017 – Las rondas 6 y 7 han marcado un punto de inflexión, ya que el número de colíderes se ha reducido a dos jóvenes GM, español uno y británico otro, ambos con el mismo nombre de pila: David Anton Guijarro y David Howell. Se enfrentaron en la ronda 8 y la victoria de Howell lo ha convertido en líder en solitario, con Cheparinov y Demchenko a medio punto. Es también destacable la actuación de la WFM de 13 años Bibisara (2244 FIDE) que lleva un rendimiento de 2558, luchando contra GM y MI.
04/06/2017 – Las rondas 4 y 5 del Campeonato de Europa tuvieron un desarrollo esperado a la par que emocionante. Tras 5 rondas, 4 jugadores comparten lo más alto de la tabla con 4.5 puntos: Cheparinov (en la foto), Melkumyan, Kuzubov y Fridman. Cada uno llegó de forma algo distinta, pero todos jugaron un fuerte y animoso ajedrez. Les sigue un un gran grupo de 27 ajedrecistas con 4.0/5, pero todavía faltan 6 rondas para el final.
