Stefan Kindermann, nacido en 1959, es gran maestro de ajedrez alemán-austríaco. Ha formado parte de los equipos nacionales de Alemania y Austria en las olimpiadas de ajedrez. Entre 1983 y 1995 se coronó Campeón de Alemania con su equipo del Bayern Múnich en nueve ocasiones. Stefan Kindermann es autor de varios libros de ajedrez, de DVDs de entrenamiento en la serie de los Fritz Trainer de ChessBase, forma parte de la junta directiva de la Fundación de Ajedrez de Múnich y escribe columnas de ajedrez en la Süddeutsche Zeitung desde hace 20 años.
20/10/2017 – Fue más bien por casualidad el que el gran maestro de ajedrez Stefan Kindermann, autor de libros y DVD de ajedrez y columnista del Süddeutsche Zeitung, descubrió el Museo del Ajedrez de Altmünster durante sus vacaciones en el lago más profundo de Austria (191 metros), el Traunsee. Se trata de un museo privado y Kindermann se quedó absolutamente entusiasmado.
