29/02/2024 – En la ronda 2 del torneo Masters en Praga, el gran maestro Parham Maghsoodloo sin duda fue la estrella de la jornada del Festival Internacional de Ajedrez de Praga. El ajedrecista iraní derrotó a R Praggnanandhaa tras la victoria del martes sobre Mateusz Bartel. El jugador indio cometió un error en los apuros de tiempo y Maghsoodloo puso fin a la increíble racha de cuarenta y siete partidas invicta de Pragg. "Estoy contento de haberlo conseguido hoy, he batido el récord de Pragg. No es tan importante, por supuesto, pero vencer a un imbatible, siempre sienta bien", declaró el gran maestro de dos puntos, que se hizo con el liderato en la categoría de Maestros. El Festival de Ajedrez de Praga incluye toda una serie de torneos, entre ellos tres torneos por invitación a todos contra todos, con un torneo Masters, uno de Challengers y Future. Además se disputará un torneo abierto internacional y torneos válidos paralas clasificaciones Elo.

En el torneo Masters, Gukesh igualmente jugó bien con las piezas negras y le deparó la segunda derrota consecutiva a Dai Van Nguyen. El campeón checo, David Navara, prolongó su serie de partidas empatadas. En el Festival de Praga, ya fue el undécimo empate consecutivo.

En el grupo Challengers, Ediz Gurel causó el impacto más significativo, al arrebatarle un punto entero a R Vaishali, y actualmente encabeza la clasificación junto con Anton Korobov.

El embajador del torneo Futures, Vishy Anand, también atrajo la atención en la segunda jornada del festival. El cinco veces campeón del mundo preparó un atractivo taller para los ajedrecistas más jóvenes y posteriormente se reunió con decenas de sus seguidores en la abarrotada sala principal en una sesión de firmas justo antes de inaugurar ceremoniosamente la segunda ronda.
