09/02/2024 – El Freestyle Chess G.O.A.T. Challenge comienza esta tarde en Weissenhauss. Siete jugadores de talla mundial desafiarán a Magnus Carlsen (el más grande de todos los tiempos) en la modalidad de "Ajedrez Freestyle" (con posición inicial aleatoria que se sorteará todos los días, previamente a la partida. El viernes y el sábado se disputará un torneo previo de ajedrez rápido,por sistema de liga para determinar el orden de emparejamientos. A partir del domingo comenzará la fase por sistema eliminatorio al ritmo de ajedrez clásico. El torneo se disputará en Weissenhaus, en las orillas del Mar Báltico Alemán, entre Hohwacht y Heiligenhafen.
Al principio se disputará un torneo rápido preliminar. A continuación habrá un torneo por sistema elimiatorio con un control de tiempo clásico, en la modalidad de ajedrez "Freestyle" (con posición inicial aleatoria).
El sorto de los emparejamientos será realizado por Miss Angola. Los jugadores jugarán en trajes hechos a medida. Las chaquetas tendrán colores muy llamativos y cada uno de tendrá su color específico.
Modalidades de juego: Ajedrez Freestyle a ritmo rápido y clásico
Torneo por sistema de liga: con un control de tiempo de 25 minutos por partida, más 10 segundos de incremento según el A5 de las reglas FIDE.

Un duelo de desempate aquella misma tarde:
Dos partidas de ajedrez rápido a 15 minutos por partida, más 10 segundos de incremento por movimiento.
Dos partidas de ajedrez relámpago a 5 minutos por partida, más 2 segundos de incremento por movimiento.
Una partida de ajedrez relámpago hasta que haya ganador.
Duración de las partidas
Jornadas 1 + 2: Torneo clasificatorio para determinar el orden de inicio, partidas a ritmo rápido.
Jornadas 3 + 4: Cuartos de final, control de tiempo clásico
Jornadas 5 + 6: Semifinales, control de tiempo clásico
Jornadas 7 + 8: Finales, control de tiempo clásico
