El sábado Fabiano Caruana logró el liderato en solitario tras una fantástica victoria con las piezas negras frente a Maxime Vachier-Lagrave. En la octava ronda todas las partidas concluyeron en tablas, con lo cual Caruana sigue en la cima a falta de la novena y última ronda. No obstante, Magnus Carlsen y Nikita Vitiugov le siguen a tan solo medio punto. Es decir, todavía podría necesitarse un duelo de desempate, dependiendo de los resultados de la ronda que se disputará esta tarde. Grenke Chess Classic 2018, tras 8 rondas
El Grenke Chess Open es el torneo abierto más grande de Europa. Se disputará entre el 29 de marzo y el 2 de abril en la Schwarzwaldhalle en Karlsruhe (Alemania). Hay tres grupos de juego (A, B y C).
