15/09/2020 – Esta tarde dará comienzo el torneo online St. Louis Rapid & Blitz. Las partidas en la modalidad de ajedrez rápido se disputarán los días 15, 16 y 17 de septiembre (9 rondas). A continuación se disputará la manga de partidas de ajedrez relámpago los días 18 y 19 de septiembre con nueve rondas por jornada, o sea que 18 rondas en total. Magnus Carlsen encabeza la lista de participantes. Participan también dos jóvenes talentos estellares, Alireza Firouzja y Jeffrey Xiaong. Las partidas comenzarán a partir de las 20:00 CEST. Hay retransmisiones en live.chessbase.com (rápidas) (a partir del 15 de septiembre) y live.chessbase.com (a partir del viernes).

Este año, igualmente debido a la problemática de la pandemia, el club de ajedrez de San Luis, Saint Louis Chess Club organizará su torneo de ajedrez rápido y relámpago a través de internet.
El torneo de partidas rápidas se disputará a una vuelta, el de ajedrez relámpago a doble vuelta. Las partidas del torneo de ajedrez rápido cuentan por duplicado.
Cuatro jugadores estrella de los Estados Unidos de América se enfrentarán con seis jugadores interancionales, entre ellos el Campeón del Mundo de Ajedrez, Magnus Carlsen. La bolsa de premios asciende a 250.000 dólares estadounidenses.
