La Federación Catalana de Ajedrez suele organizar el "Circuito Catalán" ("Circuit Català") todos los años. A lo largo del año 2019, desde abril se han disputado 28 torneos que forman parte de dicho circuito. En total han participado unos 3.500 jugadores, proveniendo de 50 países.
Entre el 27 de septiembre y el 5 de octubre se disputará el Abierto "Ciutat de Barcelona" 2019. Habr¡á dos grupos (A y B) y un torneo de ajedrez relámpago (el día 29 de septiembre).
