11/05/2023 – El miércoles 3 de mayo comenzó en la Casa de la Cultura, de Libertad, Uruguay (ubicado a 50 kms de Montevideo) un Taller de Ajedrez, el mismo va a funcionar como club de la ciudad y estará a cargo del profesor Hugo Orlando Medina Rodas, un apasionado ajedrecista que lleva más de tres décadas dedicadas jugando y enseñando las técnicas y estrategias de nuestro amado juego-ciencia. Hugo piensa que llegó el momento de mostrarle a la sociedad uruguaya los beneficios que el ajedrez le otorga a sus practicantes, tanto en los aspectos cognitivos, de pensamiento crítico, toma de decisiones y demás. Y me confiesa que: “en el ajedrez lo importante es competir, más allá que el juego simula una guerra en el tablero, en la vida hay que generar puentes sociales entre las personas”.

Sobre el objetivo de los talleres, a los que aún hay tiempo para anotarse, dijo Medina que sobresale “poder transmitir eso y para ello he realizado unos cursos a través del MEC (Ministerio de Educación y Cultura de Uruguay), que enseñan cómo enfocar el ajedrez a través de la ludopedagogía, a demostrar habilidades y beneficios del juego, en principio por mantener la mente muy activa, promocionar y difundir el ajedrez, sus valores, sus beneficios y virtudes. Lo más importante es acercar el ajedrez y la formación a todos los sectores y estamentos sociales, argumentó el profesor Medina Rodas.
La convocatoria es ‘Ajedrez para la Convivencia’ para quienes deseen llegar a competir a nivel nacional o internacional y también para quienes sólo quieran hacerlo por el juego mismo”. Cualquier persona puede participar de los talleres, con o sin experiencia previa sobre el tablero.
El ajedrez enseña “a respetar los tiempos de los demás y a valorar las cosas en común y más allá de la enseñanza del ajedrez lo que pretendo es generar los vínculos para desarrollar un buen ambiente de convivencia como los he vivido desde muy niño, tanto en Argentina como en Uruguay”, expresó el profesor Medina Rodas.
Hugo Medina Rodas trabaja en el Liceo de Playa Pascual como encargado de Secretaría y también en el Liceo de Libertad como administrativo y ha ajustado días y horarios para comenzar las clases.
Medina explicó que “tendrá un costo mensual de mil pesos, pero ya hablamos con la institución porque no queremos que lo económico sea un impedimento y aquellas personas que quieran hacer el taller puedan acercarse porque le vamos a encontrar la forma para que participen”.
El taller será los días miércoles de 17 y 30 a 18 y 30 y otra hora de 18 y 30 a 19 y 30; también los jueves de 19 a 20 y de 20 a 21. Lo planificado es que los miércoles sea para niños y los jueves para adultos, aunque todas las clases son para todas las edades.
Hugo Medina entrena ajedrez todos los días, tiene clases particulares con el Maestro Internacional argentino Leandro Perdomo, quienes estén interesados en participar de este taller en la Casa de la Cultura de Libertad, pueden consultarle a través del whats app 098 585 695.
