El interés por su aprendizaje y práctica se ha vuelto uso y costumbre en gran parte del planeta. Es que en la era digital y en tiempos de aislamiento social, permite gozar hoy, de un masivo interés popular, similar al del fútbol. Brasil, “el país del fútbol”
Está expresión está asignada a la pasión de los brasileños por este deporte, hay quien dice que ese título le fue dado en 1970, después del tricampeonato mundial. El hecho es que el fútbol brasileño comenzó a llamar la atención en el extranjero, cuando la técnica de los jugadores comenzó a maravillar al mundo. Es una identidad que ya es parte de la cultura nacional, como la música, la cocina y el propio carnaval.
Pero después de todo, ¿el fútbol es el único deporte en Brasil?
La historia del fútbol brasileño está llena de marcas, más positivas que negativas. Pero el 7 x 1 de local, contra Alemania marcó un antes y un después en el deporte brasileño.

En nuestra comunidad ajedrecística, basta solo con ver el aumento exponencial de participantes que hay en cada torneo.

La geografía del ajedrez se ha expandido mucho, ahora hay grandes jugadores en todos los rincones del planeta. Por una cuestión lógica, China e India son los países que han acumulado más ajedrecistas. Creo que pronto, Brasil seguirá los pasos de los dos países con mayor población mundial.
