25/01/2023 – El 26 de diciembre, la ajedrecista iraní participó en el Mundial de Ajedrez Rápido en Kazajistán con la cabeza descubierta, un gesto de protesta considerado una falta muy grave en su país. Sus fotos dieron la vuelta al mundo y anunció que emigraría a España, hoy su nueva casa. En plena ola de protestas, su historia representa la de tantas mujeres que luchan por la libertad en Irán.
