12/04/2022 – El ajedrez ocupó y ocupa gran parte de la vida de la gran maestra Carolina Luján. Su currículum es envidiable, es la número uno de Argentina desde hace 20 años, fue múltiple campeona argentina y panamericana en las categorías de menores. Inclusive llegando a ser top 20 del mundo en su categoría y terminando entre las 10 primeras en el mundial de Oropesa del Mar, España, en 1999. En las categorías mayores también ganó el sudamericano y el panamericano (Continental de las Américas). Y a nivel mundial, Carolina llegó a mantenerse en el top 100 durante muchos años. Su lucha por la igualdad dentro del ajedrez Junto con Claudia Amura y otras jugadoras de la vieja guardia, son las encargadas de luchar para mejorar las condiciones de todas las jugadoras Argentinas. Tal vez algún día, Carolina pueda llegar a ocupar el cargo de presidenta de la FADA (Federación Argentina de Ajedrez) como ya lo hace en su respectivo país, su colega, la maestra Damaris Abarca que preside la federación chilena.
La lucha por promover el ajedrez y traer más mujeres a la comunidad recién está comenzando.
La serie de Netflix "Gambito de Dama", que pone en escena a una joven prodigio, ha creado un fenómeno en nuestra sociedad. Las ajedrecistas argentinas lo saben, y gracias a Carolina se ha avanzado en los derechos de las mujeres dentro del ajedrez. Sin embargo, el empoderamiento de los hombres dentro de la dirigencia, no permite a la mujer, la posibilidad de gestión, por lo cual, no es posible desmontar la desigualdad estructural.

Es importante dar mejores condiciones a las jugadoras que viven del ajedrez. Los patrocinadores deberían darse cuenta de que hay muchas jugadoras compitiendo profesionalmente, pero que no consiguen las mismas remuneraciones que los hombres. Como todavía hay mucho camino por recorrer, Carolina continuará luchando por lograr la igualdad que todas las jugadoras anhelan.
