Fabiano Caruana y Sam Sevian se dejaron escapar posibilidades ganadoras frente a Leinier Domínguez y Timur Gareyev. En la quinta ronda ayer, hubo dos partidas victoriosas tanto en la competición absoluta y en la femenina. Sam Sevian derrotó a Varuzhan Akobian con negras (en la foto) y se ha apuntado el grupo de líderes con 3/5 puntos. Por otra parte, Timur Gareyev se impuso a Awonder Liang. En la sección femenina, Tatev Abrahamyan y Carissa Yip fueron las vencedoras de la jornada.
