Magnus Carlsen y Ding Liren están ofreciendo un espectáculo mano a mano en el Chess Club and Scholastic Center de San Luis (EE.UU.) Bueno, para ser más preciso, es una lucha bastante desequilibrada y el noruego no se está apiadando de su rival chino y no le da tregua. El duelo de los pesos pesados, Magnus Carlsen y Ding Liren, que acababa de jugar una partida brillante, la quizá más bella del año (o algunos ya se lanzan a decir "del siglo"), que también se ha clasificado para el Torneo de Candidatos y que es uno de los posibles retadores de Magnus Carlsen por la corona mundial, está bastate desequilibrado: Carlsen está venciendo con mucha soltura en cada partida. Desde luego, si las cosas llegasen a tanto, Ding Liren aún tendría que ponerse las pilas. Bueno, estamos hablando de partidas de ajedrez rápido, que son otra cosa que las que se juegan en un mundial.
El primer día de la competición, el Campeón del Mundo, en las 4 partidas de ajedrez rápido con un ritmo de juego de 30 minutos, quizá aún tuvo ligeros problemas para arrancar y jugar a toda potencia, pero en la segunda jornada ya se disputaron 6 partidas con un ritmo de juego de 20 minutos. De ellas, Carlsen ganó 3 y quedó invicto en las restantes.

Ayer, en la tercera jornada, disputaron 8 partidas con un ritmo de juego de 10 minutos por jugador. En la primera partida, Ding Liren por fin logró apuntarse otra victoria. Con negras, se impuso a Carlsen en una Siciliana Taimanov de manera convincente y forzó un final ganador para él:

Pero la victoria de Ding Liren igual sólo sirvió para enrabietar a Magnus Carlsen y desatar su furia. En todo caso, Carlsen ganó las siguientes 4 cuatro partidas.
