12/12/2018 – Ayer se disputó la primera partida de ajedrez clásico en el Chess Classic de Londres. Los duelos iniciales del torneo cuadrangular se disputan entre Fabiano Caruana e Hikaru Nakamura y entre Maxime Vachier-Lagrave y Levon Aronian. Ambas partidas concluyeron en tablas. Por otra parte se está disputando la Copa ProBiz, entre otras muchas actividaes. La Copa ProBiz es un torneo tandem mezclando estrellas de ajedrez z hombres de negocio. Tras poco tiempo, se intercambiaron los alfiles de las casillas oscuras en g3, abriendo la columna "h" para permitirle un ataque a Caurana en combinación con su peón "g" "corredor", sacrificándolo finalmente en g6.
Caruana tenía una posición magnífica. Solo hubo un problema: el reloj. Con 12 minutos para 17 movimientos previamente al control de tiempo en el movimiento 40, cualquier cosa parecía posible. Efectivamente, Caruana procuró encontrar el golpe letal, pero se le estaba acabando el tiempo en el reloj. Nakamura se defendió con paciencia y esmero y finalmente la ventaja se esfumó y se firmaron las paces.

Hoy, miércoles se disputará la segunda partida a ritmo clásico. El jueves 13 de diciembre se disputarán las partidas de ajedrez rápido y relámpago. A continuación habrá un día de descanso y el fin de semana y lunes próximo, se disputuarán la "gran final" (por el título del campeón y el del subcampeón) y la "pequeña final" (por los puestos tres y cuatro).
