Matthias Wuellenweber explica una función que detecta las novedades en las aperturas. Entran también las partidas más recientes y asímismo las partidas de ajedrez rápido que hayan entrado a través de la actualización automática (Mega Update), de la Mega Database de ChessBase.
No solamente saldrán marcadas las novedades mismas, sino también habrá evaluaciones que indican el grado de éxito que hayan tenido. Es decir, no únicamente se ve, cuales han sido las aperturas más jugadas en la actualidad, sino también saldrá la información de cuáles han sido las opciones que verdaderamente hayan conducido al éxito.
Además también hay explicaciones de lo que ocurrió directamente antes de la propia novedad, para comprender qué ha conducido a ella. Por ejemplo, Carlsen, jugando una variante secundaria que resulta conducir a una novedad que es muy buena.
