La bolsa de premios asciende a los 432.500 dólares estadounidenses. El premio para el ganador será de 70.000 dólares. El torneo es una de las competiciones oficiales clasificatorias para el Torneo de Candidatos, cuyo ganador recibirá el derecho a retar a Magnus Carlsen en el Campeonato del Mundo.
Se ha invitado a los cien mejores jugadores según sus valoraciones a lo largo de los últimos 12 meses. Por otra parte, varios invitados de libre designación están participando.
Ritmo de juego: 100 minutos/40 movimientos, seguidos por 50 minutos/20 movimientos, y a continuación 15 minutos para el resto de la partida. Hay un incremento de 30 segundos por movimiento a partir del primer movimiento.
