24/01/2022 – Entre el 24 de enero y el 3 de febrero se disputará el torneo "Batalla de los Sexos" (Battle of Sexes), en Gibraltar. Durante diez rondas y en total 100 partidas, este torneo por sistema Schenveningen va a juego con la discusión sociológica-científica en el debate si los hombres juegan más fuertes que las mujeres y en su caso, ¿por qué? En la primera ronda, Olga Girya ganó frente a Joseph Gallagher. Marsel Efroimski venció a Eric Rosen y Balazs Csonka se apuntó una victoria con negras frente a Jovanka Houska. El húngaro Balazs Csonka conquistó una victoria en nombre del equipo masculino en su partida contra Jovanka Houska etwas heran. La ex campeona del mundo, Antoaneta Stefanova y Bobby Cheng firmaron tablas en una India de Rey. Gunnay Mammadzada e Husain Aziz igualmente compartieron el punto, al igual que el gran maestro inglés (obtuvo el título hace poco), Ravi Haria, y la ex campeona del mundo, Mariya Muzychuk.

En la partida más larga del día, Pia Cramling se impuso a Bilel Bellahcene y dejó el marcador para su equipo en 6,5:3,5 a favor del equipo femenino.
