FIDE World Chess Grand Prix en Moscú
Los duelos de desempate de la primera ronda
Los duelos de desempate de Grand Prix de la FIDE se disputan por el sistema siguiente:
Primero hay dos partidas a ritmo de 25 minutos (más 10 segundos de incremento por movimiento).
En el caso de que permaneciese el empate, a continuación se disputarían dos partidas a 10 minutos (más 10 segundos de incremento por movimiento).
Si todavía persistiese el empate, se disputaría una partida "a todo o nada" en la modalidad de ajedrez relámpago. Las blancas disponen de 5 minutos y las negras de 4 minutos. En el caso de que las negras lograsen empatar, ganarían el duelo.
En los duelos de desempate de la primera ronda únicamente fue necesario disputar una ronda de dos partidas a 25 minutos.

Aquellos dos jugadores que al final de los cuatro torneos del circuito del Grand Prix hayan obtenido la mayor cantidad de puntos Grand Prix, se clasificarán para participar en el Torneo de Candidatos que determinará al retador del Campeón del Mundo de Ajedrez por la corona mundial.
