31/05/2019 – Ian Nepomniachtchi se adjudicó el primer torneo del Grand Prix FIDE terminado anteayer en Moscú. Se impuso a Alexander Grischuk en la segunda partida de desempate y se coronó campeón del torneo. Sin embargo, al final lo que importará será el marcador final absoluta en la clasificación de los cuatro torneos del Grand Prix FIDE, cuyos dos mejores jugadores clasificados recibirán el derecho de participar en el Torneo de Candidatos en 2020, que determinará al retador del Campeón del Mundo.
