Los participantes son: Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, Vishy Anand, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Levon Aronian, Peter Svidler, Arkadij Naiditsch, Paco Vallejo, Georg Meier y Vincent Keymer. La primera ronda se disputará el sábado 20 de abril en Karlsruhe y la última el 29 de abril en Baden-Baden . Ritmo de juego: 100 min./40 movimientos, 50 min./20 mov. y 15 min. para el resto de la partida con un incremento de 30 segundos por movimento a partir del primer movimiento.
Sistema de desempate:
- Cantidad de victorias
- Cantidad de victorias con negras
- Resultado por duelo directo
En el caso de que dos jugadores quedasen empatados en el primer puesto se disputarían dos partidas a 10 minutos + 2 segundos de incremento por movimiento. De ser necesario a continuación dos partidas de 5 minutos + 2 seg. Finalmente una partida a todo o nada (6 minutos para las blancas, 5 minutos para las negras y las negras ganan el duelo si consiguen empatar).
