El Centro de Ajedrez de Baden-Baden invita al Grenke Chess Classic 2015, un torneo magistral de clase superior. Los organizadores se alegran de poder anunciar un grupo de participantes extraordinario, encabezado por el Campeón del Mundo Magnus Carlsen y el que ha sido el último retador de Carlsen por el título mundial, el ex campeón del mundo Viswanathan Anand. Ésta es la tercera edición del Grenke Chess Classic tras las ediciones disputadas en 2013 y 2014.

Fue una ronda interesante en Baden-Baden. Eso sí también fue un poco rara. Lo más destacado sin duda fue la derrota de Magnus Carlsen ante Arkadij Naiditsch que llegó junto con unas cuantas sorpresas. La primera fue el hecho que el Campeón del Mundo sacrificase una pieza sin contar con compensación para ello. O sea, que medio año después de la olimpiada en Tromso, Arkadij Naiditsch vuelve a vencer al número uno del mundo.
Aronian jugó su partida contra Caruana de manera rara, permitendo al italiano ganar sin especiales esfuerzos. Por otra parte, Baramidze simplemente se derrumbó al pasar por alto de un golpe táctico.
