Podría parecer exagerado, pero si está jugando uno de los mejores ajedrecistas de todos los tiempos (el más grande de todos, según opinan muchos) y
disputa algunas partidas aunque esté retirado oficialmente, entonces sí que es una novedad y hay que disfrutarla al máximo, aunque "solo" hayan sido partidas de ajedrez relámpago. Dicho
lo cual, Kasparov ha ganado la primera partida e iba ganando la segunda también hasta el último momento.
No solo fue una concesión a las cámaras, sino que fue una auténtica lucha con sangre, de
las del Kasparov de toda la vida.
El reconocido comentarista, entrenador y autor de varios libros y DVDs de entrenamiento del
catálogo de ChessBase Andrew Martin ha aprovechado la ocasión para invertir
generosamente algo de tiempo y preparar unos vídeos con análisis y observaciones acerca de las partidas.
Partida 1: Kasparov-Vachier Lagrave
En la segunda partida, se podría suponer que unas tablas rápidas bastarían a Kaparov
para ganar fácilmente el duelo, pero no fue así. Tal y como se ha podido ver en la partida
(y el primero en comentarnos fue el MF Ricardo Teixeira), Garry iba ganando también en la segunda partida, incluso en la posición antes de su movimiento final, y probablemente solo dejó escapar el triunfo por los apuros de tiempo.
Partida 2: Vachier Lagrave-Kasparov
Andrew David Martin, nació el 18 de mayo de 1957, en West Ham, Londres. Alcanzó el título de maestro internacional en 1984. Se ha coronado campeón en diversos torneos nacionales e internacionales y en 1997 alcanzó la primera norma de gran maestro en el Campeonato Británico en Brighton. Martin fue comentarista oficial del Campeonato del Mundo entre Kasparov y Kramnik en el año 2000. El 21 de febrero de 2004, Martin logró un récord del mundo en unas simultáneas de ajedrez. Se enfrentó con 321 oponentes y obtuvo 294 victorias, 26 empates y sufrió únicamente una sola derrota. Se dedica a la enseñanza de ajedrez y es entrenador jefe del equipo juvenil de Inglaterra. Da clases en ocho colegios (Yateley Manor, Aldro, Millfield, Sunningdale, Waverley School, St Michael’s Sandhurst, Wellington College, Salesian College). Además, Andrew Martin escribe columnas de ajedrez, es autor de varios libros de ajedrez y ha grabado unos cuantos DVDs de entrenamiento para ChessBase. Fue editor también de “Trend Publications”. Andrew Martin vive en Sandhurst (Inglaterra), está casado y es padre de dos niñas y dos niños.
