Este último planteó una posición agresiva contra la Siciliana de Magnus Carlsen las tres veces que jugaba blancas. Nepomniachtchi ganó una partida y perdió dos. Hay que constatar que derrotar a Magnus Carlsen ha resultado ser prácticamente imposible. A lo largo de la serie de torneos que forman parte del "Magnus Carlsen Chess Tour 2020", durante el torneo actual "Legens of Chess", el Campeón del Mundo tan solo ha perdido un solo mini duelo. Ayer decidió a su favor la primera jornada de la final contra Ian Nepomniachtchi. Si hoy Carlsen volviese a triunfar, habría ganado otro torneo más.

Eliminatorias: Los 4 mejores de las preliminares avanzan a semifinales
Se juega al mejor de 3 sets
Cada set: Matches a cuatro partidas rápidas (15'+10")
En caso de empate, se juegan dos partidas de blitz (5'+3"); si se mantiene la igualdad, Armagedón.
Calendario
Las partidas arrancan a las 16:00 CEST tanto en las preliminares como en las eliminatorias.
