07/11/2016 – Ayer se disputó la primera de las siete rondas de la Copa de Europa de Clubes. En la sección absoluta, 6 equipos lograron el máximo resultado (VSK Svet Nikolaj Srpski, Odlar Yurdu, Vaalerenga Chess Club, KGSRL Gent, Gambit ASSECO SEE, y Omladinski Sahovski Klub "Paracin"). En la prueba femenina participan 14 equipos y hay 4 con el máximo marcador: Nona Batumi, SHSM "Legacy Squeare Moscow", Odlar Yurdu, Chigorin Chess Club y Cercle d´Echecs Monte-Carlo). Para seguir las partidas en directo

El torneo se disputa por sistema suizo a 7 rondas con un control de tiempo de 90 minutos para los primeros 40 movimientos, más 30 minutos para el resto de la partida, con 30 segundos de incremento por movimiento. Se prohiben las tablas antes del movimiento 30. El plazo de tolerancia para llegar tarde al tablero es de 15 minutos. La bolsa de premios asciende a 35.000 euros de los cuales 8.000 son para el primer equipo clasificado en la prueba absoluta y 5.000 para el primer club de la prueba femenina.
