19/09/2019 – Este año se estrenará una nueva película cuyos protagonistas son ajedrecistas. La historia se basa en hechos reales, ocurridos en 2012. El niño Fahim Mommahmed, está está obligado a huir de Bangladesh junto con su padre. Refugiado en Francia, Fahim vive una fantástica historia de éxito, gracias a su don por el ajedrez. En la vida real el entrenador de Fahim era Xavier Parmentier (falleció en 2014 a los 52 años de edad). En la película Gérard Depardieu adapta el papel del entrenador. La semana que viene le película se estrenará en Alemania, en el Festival de Cine de Hamburgo y a mediados de octubre llegará a las salas de cine también de España. | Foto: Wild Bunch

La película está basada en hechos reales, ocurridos en 2012. En la vida real, el entrenador de Fahim Mohhamed era Xavier Parmentier, que lamentablemente falleció en 2014 a la edad de tan solo 52 años.
Pero previamente, Xavier Parmentier junto con el propio Farin y con Sophie Le Callennec, puso en papel la historia original del éxito del pequeño Fahim. El libro original en francés fue editado en 2014 (Un roi sans papier/Un roi clandestin) y ha sido traducido al castellano "El rey de Bengala" y ha sido publicado por la editorial Grijalbo
La película "Fahim" se basa en la historia original, contada en el libro y al director Pierre François Martin-Laval la ha salido una película preciosa con un sentido del humor muy fino.
Estrenos de la película "Fahim"
El pasado mes de junio, se celebró un preestreno en el Cine Lido en Castres (Francia). Dentro de unos días se estrenará en el Festival de Cine en Hamburgo (Alemania) (del 29 de septiembre al 5 de octubre de 2019). En España, la película se estrenará a mediados de octubre de 2019 en las grandes salas.
