04/08/2024 – El Campeonato del Mundo de Rápidas y Blitz por Equipos comienza el viernes con la sección de ajedrez rápido, la cual durará tres días. El torneo de blitz, por su parte, se jugará el lunes y el martes. Entre otros, competirán Magnus Carlsen, Ding Liren y Vincent Keymer. Las rondas del torneo de rápidas comenzarán los tres días a las 14.30 hora local (11.30 CEST, 5.30 ET).

El año pasado, el Campeonato del Mundo de Rápidas por Equipos de la FIDE se celebró en Düsseldorf, y en 2024 la capital kazaja, Astaná, será la anfitriona. En su segunda edición, el torneo se ha ampliado para incluir un Campeonato Mundial de Blitz por Equipos. Las partidas se disputan en seis tableros, uno de los cuales debe ser ocupado por una mujer y otro está reservado a un ajedrecista aficionado con una puntuación en rápidas inferior a 2000.
El torneo de rápidas se celebra del 2 al 4 de agosto y es un torneo suizo en el que participan 38 equipos. El torneo de blitz comienza el 5 de agosto con una fase de grupos, seguida de una ronda final eliminatoria el 6 de agosto.
Competirán el número uno del mundo, Magnus Carlsen, el campeón mundial, Ding Liren, y muchos otros jugadores destacados.
