La variante Cambridge Springs, en la semi eslava (5.Ag5 Cbd7 6.e3 Da5) se solía considerar como alternativa sólida y fiable en comparación con las posiciones súper agresivas que habitualmente suelen surgir en la Botvinnik (4...dxc4) y la varainte (anti-)Moscú (5...h6).
En la partida Stocek vs. Bluebaum, disputada en el Memorial Rubinstein, que se está jugando durante estos días, el gran maestro checo jugó una partida magistral muy instructiva. Mostró, cómo las blancas pueden ser capaces de armar un ataque contra el rey negro. La partida jugada por el jugador de las blancas no fue impecable, pero aún así la ganó en 25 movimientos.
Ejercicio: El momento crítico llega en el movimiento 17, cuando las blancas tienen que decidir cómo quieren continuar con el ataque. Los movimientos más prometedores para las blancas parecen 17.Ce4 y 17.Te3. ¿Puede descubrir la diferencia que hay entre ambas opciones?
