14/08/2022 – El desenlace de la Olimpiada de Ajedrez en Chennai sufrió un giro repentino en la décima ronda, en el duelo entre dos jóvenes estrellas del deporte, Dommaraju Gukesh y Nodirbek Abdusattorov. El gran maestro indio de 16 años tenía una mejor posición tras la apertura y, de hecho, parecía tener la partida ganada en algún momento. 21/11/2019 – Entre el 12 y el 23 de noviembre de 2019, se disputan los Campeonatos del Mundo de Veteranos 2019. Como siempre, hay cuatro grupos de juego: sección absoluta para mayores a los 50 años, sección absoluta para mayores a los 65 años y las mismas secciones de edades femeninas. Tras ocho rondas mandan Vadim Shishkin (7/8 puntos) en la sección 50+, Carlos Palermo García (7/8) en la sección 65+, Tatiana Bogumil (6,5/8) en la sección femenina 50+ y Brigitte Burchardt (6/8) en la sección femenina 65+. 04/04/2019 – En la foto se ve la planilla de la primera partida que Magnus Carlsens ha jugado en un torneo que haya sido guardada también en la Mega Database de ChessBase. Fue en octubre de del año 2000, cuando Magnus Carlsen disputó esta partida contra Ingo Cordts. 20/02/2019 – Fue una situación rara, la que se produjo en Moscú. Después de que se hubiesen disputado las primeras 45 minutos del Abierto Aeroflot, de repente hubo alarma por amenaza de bomba en Moscú. La ronda fue suspendia y se requiere reiniciar la primera ronda. ¿Qué conclusiones sacarán se sacarán de las partidas que se han quedado "a medio jugar"? ¿Cómo reaccionarán los jugadores? 07/11/2017 – Hoy dará comienzo el Campeonato del Mundo de Veteranos en Acqui Terme. Los participantes tienen un nivel muy alto y muchos de ellos se mantienen todavía muy activos también en las competiciones de elite. Julio Granda y Alexander Khalifman encabezan la lista de favoritos en la sección de mayores de 50 años. Forman parte del grupo de mayores de 65 años: Anatoly Vaisser, Evgeny Sveshnikov, Eugenio Torre y el veterano estadounidense James Tarjan. La prueba durará hasta el 18 de noviembre.
