17/04/2025 – Garry Kasparov y Anatoly Karpov disputaron cinco matches por el Campeonato del Mundo. El cuarto encuentro se jugó en Sevilla en 1987. Después de 23 partidas, el marcador era de 12-11 a favor de Karpov, lo que ponía a Kasparov en una situación en la que debía ganar para retener su título.
