Hizo lo mismo también con Magnus Carlsen. Le ha salido una entrevista muy entrenida que se realizó en un coche Chevrolet del año 1976 o al menos eso simularon. El número uno del ajedrez mostró un gran sentido del humor y reveló muchas cosas sobre si mismo y sobre cómo ve el mundo.
Una de las preguntas de Wilson fue por qué Carlsen sigue siendo tan modesto a pesar de todos sus triunfos. La respuesta de Carlsen fue que en Noruega se aprende desde pequeño que uno no se debe mirar mucho el ombligo.
A la pregunta sobre si se plantea el ajedrez más como artista o como guerrero, Carlsen respondió: "Como guerrero. Eso sí, busco la belleza y el arte en mis partidas, pero la meta principal es ganar".
Carlsen explicó que le fascinan los trucos de magia, que a veces sueña con jugadores de ajedrez que intentan hacer que llegue a la partida y que no se considera a si mismo un genio.
