Juan Sebastián Morgado recibió el título de IMC en 1980 y de GMC en 1983. Quedó subcampeón en el Campeonato de Ajedrez Postal en 1984. Es autor y ha escrito varios libros.

06/07/2020 – El 3 de julio de 2020 se cumple el 137° aniversario del nacimiento de Franz Kafka (1883-1924), extraordinario escritor nacido en Praga en tiempos que esta hermosa ciudad era parte del Imperio Austro-Húngaro. Sobre su figura siempre rondó, en cuanto a su probable vinculación con el ajedrez una historia que, además de ubicarlo como poseedor en su biblioteca de alguna bibliografía especializada, aseguraba que había sido un buen aficionado al juego, que pudo haber sido parte de algún torneo local e, incluso, de un enfrentamiento con al cubano José Raúl Capablanca en una sesión de simultáneas en 1911. Allí se hicieron dos olimpiadas; allí se cultivó una cohorte de jugadores que en el entorno temporal próximo a los años 50, de la mano de Miguel Najdorf, Julio Bolbochán, Oscar Panno, Carlos Guimard, Erich Eliskases, Héctor Rossetto, Herman Pilnik y Raúl Sanguineti, catapultó a la Argentina a la élite mundial; allí se forjaron siempre exponentes que brillarían por su talento; allí se ubican lugares emblemáticos en donde se facilitó su práctica, particularmente desde la fundación en 1905 del Club Argentino de Ajedrez, una de la más señeras de entre todas las entidades sudamericanas especializadas; allí se concretaron recordados matches por la corona mundial o en el tránsito a ella. | Fotos: Juan S.
